About Me

I’m Brandon, born and raised in Idaho. Over the past 28 years, I have become a nurse, nursing professor, and current graduate student. I was raised LDS but when I was 23 I came to terms that I was gay and it changed my life. My life has been a journey of self-acceptance as I learn to love who I love and who I am.

Living 85% of my life in the closet, masking my true identity, I have had to relearn who I really am, and what my true interests and hobbies are over the last 5 years. It has been fun and also difficult. The hunting and fishing lifestyle of my youth was greatly influenced by my family and friends and social norms. Distance from those influences has helped me regain my love for art, photography, birds and wildlife, and academics.

In an attempt to live more authentically, I created this site to express myself. You’ll see my photography, art, blog posts from life experiences, and everything in between. I’ll be reflecting on the past and hopefully seeing the growth I’ve experienced.
